Matte About Lips

I've never been a huge fan of lipstick. It's always been too messy for my taste. There's nothing ickier than long hair being blown into your lipstick and then spreading it across your face. However, when matte lipsticks decided to come onto the beauty scene in full force I fell in love! Now I can have the beautiful lip shades without the gross mess! Yay me! Here's my top 3 favorites:

3. Tarte LipSurgence Matte - Fiery

$24, Sephora.

I'm not sure why they call this a lip tint because it is a full coverage color. This has been my go-to red lipstick for a while now and my only complaint is it is a little dry and once the point has been worn down it can be hard to apply precisely. (I have small lips so it's a bit wide.)

2. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Antwerp

$6, Ulta.

 This is amazing stuff. It's not your normal lipstick. It's a liquid lipstick that goes on with the ease of lipgloss and dries into a smudge-proof matte color.

Obsessed doesn't begin to describe my feelings for this flawless liquid lipstick. Actually, to be totally honest I'm obsessed with the whole brand and it's adorable founder, Doe Deere. (follow her on Instagram and you'll go crazy fangirl on her too.) This color might as well have been made just for me. It goes on so flawlessly and has some serious staying power. You can wear this color alone or combine it with the brand's Carousel Gloss in Snowsicle for a shiny look.(It's seriously the shit too. I never pass up glitter!) I can't wait to order the other Velvetines color, Suedeberry. Not to mention their Zodiac Eye Glitter!

British model, Cara Delevingne. She's absolute perfection that reminds me of a modern Twiggy. She looks like the kind of girl you want to go out and get crazy with.
