Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
It's almost that time of year again! I hope you and the Mrs. have been well. I know the elves are keeping you on your toes getting ready for your big night! I've been mostly good this year and I hope you can find it in your heart (and that fab red velvet bag) to drop these goodies off at my house!! Thanks again!!
Love,
P.S. How would you feel about wine and cheese instead of milk and cookies?

Keep Your Fingers Crossed
Hello girls and fabulous boys! New York was ab fab and I will definitely post on that soon enough when I upload some pics but right now I thought I would share some exciting (possible) news with you!
I was contacted yesterday by someone from Mississippi Magazine concerning my brooch bouquet. For those of you that don't know what Mississippi Magazine is, it's a state wide magazine that features basically anything interesting and wonderful going on in our dear state. Including weddings, restaurants, decor, shopping, etc. Once a year they put out a wedding register issue that features weddings from the past year. I've been excited since I was a little girl and saw my cousins' write-ups to have my own in the magazine. This is my year! I tediously wrote and re-wrote my article until it was just right and everything important was included. One of the key things I included was the brooch bouquet that I made for myself from vintage brooches and earrings given to me by grandmothers, aunts, moms and friends of mine and my husband's. Anywho, the pictorial editor contacted me wanting to know more about the bouquet and to see some close up shots of it. I'm so so excited! I can't even begin to tell you how important the bouquet is to me. I really hope they will go through with the article! If not, I won't get my feelings hurt. A lot of hard work went into making it and it's always nice to have your hard work recognized. Especially if it's something crafty!!

It's Only A Day A-WAAAYYYY
AH! I can't believe that our trip is finally here! I feel like I've been waiting forever (real time only about 6 months) and now it's time! NYC here we come! It's going to be like The Muppets take Manhattan mixed with Sex and the City with a splash of Gossip Girl. Hello good time! (Did you follow all that??) For once in my life, I'm actually all packed (excluding last minute toiletries) prior to the night before leaving. This may in fact be one of my greatest adult achievements. I'm so on top of things that I've already loaded new books on my Kindle. Tonight will be spent making sure my husband's suitcase is in as good of shape as mine, cleaning for my mom to stay at our house next week, and giving my fur babies extra love. Hopefully, I will be able to go to sleep at an early hour. I may have to take a little sleepy time medicine to get some shut eye before our super early morning flight. Now, if I can just make it through this work day!
Here's the books I loaded on my Kindle. I realize I'm way behind on reading the big books from the past couple of years but it's not like they won't still be good.
1) The Family Fang - Kevin Wilson (I'm really trying to give more male writers a chance, it's somewhat out of my comfort zone.)
2) Water for Elephants - Sarah Gruen
3) Eat, Pray, Love - Elizabeth Gilbert
4) The Help - Kathryn Stockett ( I should really be ashamed of not reading this one yet. Hello, I live in Jackson, MS.)
5) The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern ( Ok, techinically it's been on my Kindle but I haven't had time to finish yet. Tomorrow!)
6) And if none of these satisfy my airplane reading desires I always have every Eve Dallas book by J.D. Robb just waiting to be consumed.
Happy Monday Darlings!

Etsy Find
I've been totally obsessing over the Etsy shop, Pop Pop Portraits, for a while now. I haven't purchased a print for myself because I'm really wanting to have a custom portrait done of my husband and I. (Whenever I can decide on that perfect picture!) I love how simple but detailed the works are. I want to be friends with all these cute girls! Here are some of my favorite ones.

DIY Project
After NYC I hope to do a little project similar to this to hang all my pretties in my closet. Right now they are horribly disorganized and jumbled in a drawer. It's driving me nuts!!!

Ok, Ooh and Ahh over my baby and her big silly feet now.
Circus, Circus
I'm currently reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I don't want to give a single ounce of it away to any of you but I will say that there's a fantastic carousel in it and I'm obsessed. Ms. Morgenstern has an enormous talent for descriptive language and I can't wait to see what she writes next. Go get this book right now! I promise you'll want to run away with the circus and never look back.

Rah Rah Ooh La La
If you haven't figured it out, I love Lady Gaga and red is my happy color. Gaga's "meet the Queen" red latex dress was the inspiration for this hot little ensemble.
Lanvin pleated dress, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen black velvet cape, Platform wedge, Elie Saab clutch bag, Mawi gold cocktail ring, Amrita Singh gold tone earrings, House of Harlow 1960 chain sunglasses,
Pan-Amazing
Apparently this is going to be an outfit post overload day. I can't help it. When I'm inspired, I'm inspired. I don't think I could express how much I'm enjoying the new TV show Pan-Am. The characters are great, I love that time period, and I've secretly always wanted to be a flight attendant. It's like the show was created specifically for me! I especially love the clothes, though. Shocking, right? Me in love with clothes?? Who would've guessed. I hope you like my modern version of the Pan-Am uniform.

Miyazaki Etsy Finds
If you haven't seen at least one Hayao Miyazaki anime film then get the hell off the internet and rent one! Seriously, you've been missing out. The artwork is amazing. It's realistic and fantastical at the same time. Not to mention that the stories are captivating. My personal favorites are Ponyo, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, although, My Neighbor Totoro and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind are close runners up. Before I totally geek out, check out these Miyazaki inspired Etsy finds.
Maybe Santa will bring me some of these pretties.... ♥
Beer of the Week
I've always been more of a beer girl than liquor and I'm always down to try a new brew but I've never found a Sam Adams that I liked until last night. I tried the Samuel Adams Coastal Wheat beer and loved it! It's lemony but not over the top. Very crisp and definitely a new favorite! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes the citrus taste of Blue Moon. I can't wait to get off work and have another one!
The next new beer I'm going to try is the Sam Adams Winter Lager. I may turn out to be a Sam Adams fan yet!
For giggles..
There are numerous reasons why I don't run. This is one of them.
Aww...
Nothing makes me melt like baby animals, especially baby bunnies. (AKA booboos) I have a precious little American Fuzzy Lop and even when she's being a holy terror (which is quite often) she's still cute! One day I'll stop being a slacker and put my real pets on here but for now I'm stealing from Pinterest.

MUST HAVE
One of my favorite songs of all time is the high school hit "Remix to Ignition" by R. Kelly. I almost lost my mind when I saw this little gem of a necklace featured on Caragh Poh's blog Wait, what.
